Our First Full Fall Weekend: Pennsylvania!

We have been busier than we anticipated, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. We promise to do better at keeping you up to date. So, here is a quick recap of where we have been and what we have been up to.

As you know, we were in Springfield this weekend with our friends Laura, Ed and their son Gabe. Friday night was spent relaxing at the house with pizza and wine (lots of wine, it was Friday after all) and sitting around the fire pit catching up and enjoying the gorgeous fall night.
photo 1IMG_9453While the ever so right meteorologists called for a rainy overcast Saturday, we could not have had a more perfect sunny warm day. We packed up the car and headed over to Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA. If you live around the area or happen to find yourself in the area, this is a MUST visit. The property is acre after acre of fun times. We started our afternoon in the “pick your own” section of the farm – picking our own tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and eggplant – and of course, apples!

We filled our box full of delicious produce for only $20.IMG_6356
Excited by our bounty that we would use to eat this week, we were off to see the fall festival portion of Linvilla. Fried oreos, caramel corn popcorn, caramel apples, apple cider donuts and pumpkins galore!

Saturday night brought one of the biggest rain storms we had seen in a long time, but that was not going to stop us from a fun night out on the town. Thank you Bridget, Tricia and Laura for showing us a good time in Media.

We have committed to exercising AT LEAST 45 minutes a day on this trip, Sunday was our first “work out.”  A three mile hike through Ridley State Park.

Absolutely beautiful, even with the bears (hint: watch the video below).

  1. Looks like so much fun! The produce is so pretty, the child is beautiful and I’m hungry looking at the grill! Two things – the pilgrims should have had cutout heads so you two could pose as one or the other! And the bear video seems to be missing, but maybe that’s my work computer! Love to you both!
